Our Dame Trott wins Dame Academy 2003!

In a close and gruelling contest our very own Dame Lara Trott, David Lovesy, star of our forthcoming panto Jack and the Beanstalk, beat the opposition (which included Steve Clark, MKAOS panto Director as Dame Gladys, a Dame from the MK theatre Box office and a Dame from Tread the Board's production of Treasure Island next Feb) to be crowned winner of Dame Academy 2003 and win a much treasured sash and tiara and a weekend break for two in Gutenberg, Sweden.

The contestants faced a number of searching and probing questions from compere Toby Freidner from BBC 3 Counties Radio in Yates Wine bar this week (Wednesday 26th Nov) and then, in under 30 seconds, had to say why they deserved the title.

The judges, including Sammy Jones from the Citizen, Don Maclean, MK Theatre's panto dame (not the guy who sang American pie!) and the Manager of Olney Carpets, who are sponsoring MK theatre's Aladdin, then announced the winner.

The evening was rounded off by Dame Lara and Dame Gladys performing a rendition of 'Man, I feel like a woman'
